About INNIS & GUNN

Innis & Gunn believes it is Scotland’s most award winning brewer ever and its beer is widely available in the UK; in supermarkets and in bars. It is a leader in the global craft beer movement and enjoyed by drinkers around the world.

Drinkers are gradually losing interest in big mass-produced beers [1] and the management believe they are looking for beers like Innis & Gunn, craft beers with depth of flavour and real character. This trend is accelerating [2]. Last year Innis & Gunn sold over 20 million bottles of beer, up 31% on the prior year. Over a quarter of sales value came from the UK.  But great beer knows no borders so 72% of sales were over seas, mainly to North America and Scandinavia. Innis and Gunn has begun to sell in South Africa, Russia and France and, in October 2014, sent their first products to South Korea. Innis & Gunn has already won The Queen’s Award for International Trade twice [3].

The company now believes that the time is right to bring brewing, barrel maturation and bottling under one roof in a home of its own where the business can install the special equipment needed to craft beers with even greater depth of flavour. A site has been identified in South-East Scotland.
